Inspired by this NY Times piece: Suicide on Campus and the Pressure of Perfection

It is possible that what young men and women endure and work through today is different than what we had way back when. Certainly, no one here knows your story the way you do.

I know four things:

One: There are so many people on your campus — and in your life besides — that care about you, are proud of you, think the world of you and they all have something in common. They want the best for you.

Two: Life teaches us “best for you” means a breathtakingly remarkable array of things.

Three: There are services on campus to lend a hand, too. All of those people, pros and friends, are there for you. Never be afraid to seek them out when you need to. There’s not a thing in the world wrong with doing so.

Four: Asking for help, that’s real strength.
