A firm called Digital TV Research foresees huge growth industry in online video. Not exactly a bold prediction at this point (See this statistic on where YouTube is going?) but one to which we should pay attention.
They see big increases in broadband, international markets and increasing technology that will work nicely with those now-regular partnerships you’ve been reading about.
By 2018, Digital TV Research says, 520 million homes in 40 countries will watch online television and video. The numbers sit around $15.94 billion expected to be generated this year. In just 2010 the number was 182 million homes, with revenues at $34.99 billion.
Always follow the money.
So, again, if you aren’t thinking about mobile and/or video, you’re behind.
