Beware the television GFX error

Even in high-pressure, breaking news scenarios, you have to pay attention to the details.

Anything in this television graphic* — a screen cap I caught off their online feed — seem odd to you?

I caught the last hour or so of the wall-to-wall coverage by NBC 5, Dallas. They did a nice job weaving helicopter shots, taped footage, multiple reporters on location and submitted video. But don’t forget the graphics.

*The graphic is trying to say people in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex felt the explosion. Folks in Arlington, 80 miles away from West, thought they were in an earthquake. (Remember your physics: solid things like the earth make an excellent medium for sounds and shockwaves.)
